On Women’s Day, REWA celebrated 30 unsung heroines of Purulia — women who quietly shape families and futures without ever receiving public recognition for it. Inspired by Mrs. Renu Jhunjhunawala, the event was built specifically around honoring these women’s everyday contributions.

The celebration featured a quiz, saree distribution, and refreshments — a deliberately warm, personal format rather than a formal ceremony, designed to make the women being honored feel genuinely celebrated rather than simply acknowledged in passing.

How REWA Made an Impact

The event was designed to give visibility to women whose contributions often go unnoticed in daily life — homemakers, caregivers, and quiet community pillars who rarely receive the kind of recognition typically reserved for more visible public achievements.

By naming and celebrating 30 specific women by name, rather than honoring “women” as an abstract category, REWA made the day personal and specific — reinforcing that empowerment starts with individual dignity and recognition, not just broad policy statements.
