REWA held cookery classes where members shared recipes for fusion sweets, healthy meals, and everyday snacks — turning a simple skill-sharing session into a space for creativity, confidence-building, and community bonding among the women who took part.
Participants didn’t just learn recipes; they exchanged techniques, adapted dishes to their own family’s tastes, and left with practical skills they could apply immediately at home or, for some, as the beginning of a small food-based income idea.
How REWA Made an Impact
This initiative empowered participants with practical, transferable skills — a flavorful but meaningful step toward broader self-reliance. Cooking skills, while modest in scope, translate directly into either household savings or small entrepreneurial opportunities for women looking to generate additional income.
The informal, social nature of the sessions also made this one of REWA’s more accessible programs — requiring no prior education level or formal enrollment, just willingness to participate and learn alongside other women in the community.
