On World Environment Day 2017, REWA Purulia partnered directly with Purulia Municipality to lead a “Clean Purulia, Green Purulia” awareness rally — bringing together multiple local clubs and organizations under a single environmental cause rather than running the event in isolation.
The rally moved through key areas of Purulia, combining a visible public demonstration with direct community engagement, encouraging residents to see environmental responsibility as a shared civic duty rather than a government-only concern.
How REWA Made an Impact
This collaboration with the municipality reflects REWA’s broader strategy: environmental change is more sustainable when local government and grassroots organizations work in tandem, rather than in parallel but disconnected efforts. The rally’s multi-organization structure meant the message reached far more residents than a single-group event could have.
